COMMUNITY, ADVOCACY, & OUTREACH

Alex is an active and influential member of the climbing community, both locally and nationally.

After coming out publicly in 2018, she became an Athlete Ally ambassador, helping champion the nonprofit’s mission to end homophobia and transphobia in sports.

In 2025, Alex collaborated with several of her longtime brand partners to create PRIDE-themed gear that gives back — including a limited-edition PRIDE beer with Athletic Brewing, with 100% of profits donated to Athlete Ally, and a PRIDE climbing shoe collaboration with Evolv and Rise Coffee Co., benefitting The Venture Out Project, Inclusive Outdoors, and The Black Trans Travel Fund.

When she’s not competing, Alex shares her experience and insight as a color commentator for USA Climbing’s National Series broadcasts, joining NBC Olympic Analyst Meagan Martin in the booth from 2021 through 2023.

Her passion for education and mentorship runs deep — in 2011, she helped Pro Climbers International (PCI) develop national youth and adult clinic programs focused on technique, training, and competition strategy. Since then, she’s taught dozens of clinics across the country for athletes of all levels, from beginners to national team members.

A seasoned public speaker, Alex gave her first climbing demonstration at age fourteen and has since gone on to present keynotes, slideshows, and talks at universities, industry events, fundraisers, and brand gatherings.

She is also a proud Athlete Ambassador for The Access Fund, advocating for the protection and preservation of climbing areas nationwide. While living in Las Vegas, Alex served on the board of the Southern Nevada Climbers Coalition, helping steward and protect many of her favorite outdoor crags.

Few athletes exhibit world class athleticism and professionalism in the same package. Alex can be trusted in any situation: climbing, teaching, advocating, or speaking.
